Failure Leads To Mastery

What’s the difference between a Master and a Beginner? The Master has failed more times than the beginner has even tried! I’m not saying that because you have failed that you will be a Master, but I am saying that when you fail AND you don’t give up you will eventually Master what is in front of you! Many Beginners try to overcome something in front of them, but all to quickly they get frustrated and give up! EVERYONE will fail when they focus on LARGE goals that they have set in front of them, but the trick is to look at why or how you failed, evaluate what happened, and work on improving YOU to master it! Look at Abraham Lincoln. He tried over and over to get elected into multiple office and FAILED! Finally, he tried for president and was elected as our president. Probably one of the best seeing he knew how to face failures and overcome them.

I’m no Master especially in the areas that I’m working on Mastering, and I may never reach Mastery, but compared to others I may have, but I know I haven’t. Mastery is a pursuit more than a place that is reached! I failed at College and lost my scholarship, but didn’t give up and went back to school and finished. I failed at my relationship with my wife early in my marriage, but worked on where I failed and am daily improving me and how I can be a better husband, but I’m way better now than where I was only a few years ago! I failed at my weight loss, physical fitness, diet, and nutrition. I went from 216 to 195, and BACK UP TO 212! I could have given up, but failing was NOT an option so I pushed forward and got back down to 180 and I’m in better shape now then I’ve ever been in my life. There have been days where selling real estate doesn’t go like I expect it to. Maybe I don’t get a listing or lose a buyer. I never give up, I just focus on what I can change and that’s at being a better Me!

Again, I’m no master, but you HAVE TO BE OK with failing! How do you eat an Elephant? 1 bite at a time, well then why do we feel that we have to eat our “Elephant” immediately? You must take it 1 day at a time if you EVER want to master your job, relationships, weight loss, school, physical fitness goal, etc.

I know not everyone who hears or reads this may be a Christian, but even the Bible says it in the book of James. In Chapter 1 It says, “Consider it Pure Joy, when you go through trials and tribulations, because the TESTING of your faith creates perseverance, and perseverance MUST finish its work in order for you to be mature and complete!” I know scripture refers to faith in Christ, but you must see this is Truth to your life. Have Joy in Trials which is your failures because it’s testing your faith, which faith is believing in what you cannot see by definition. Faith creates perseverance which is needed to never give up and since you don’t give up and keep pushing forward you can eventually master the task in front of you! James also says to not simply say “You have Faith”, but to actually PROOVE by the way that your live that your faith is REAL! You have faith your marriage can overcome your failures, prove that you want to change, evaluate what you can do TO YOU! You have faith your weight loss goal can happen? Prove by the way you live that your faith is real! Train your body, and focus on balanced nutrition. You have faith You can graduate school? Prove by the way you study that your faith is real. You HAVE TO put action to your faith in order to Master what is in front of you!

So what’s the difference between a Master and a Beginner? The master has failed more times than the beginner has even tried! So don’t give up, and master everything in front of you!
