Abnormally Tall Grass?
It's Actually Not a Surprise! Why??
If it seems that grass around the Baton Rouge and surrounding areas is abnormally high, that's because it actually is higher than normal!
The city-parish has actually fallen behind this summer in cutting more than 1,000 miles of grass that lines the public right of ways, streets, state roadways and even the interstate.
The Parish officials attribute this problem to several factors.
1. June was a VERY rainy month AND work crews fell behind due to the amount of rain.
2. Through July and August ended up being somewhat drier.
The assistant chief administrative officer Carey Chauvin says it was difficult to catch up.
So does it seem like grass is higher or local job crews who work outside are behind?? Well guess what pretty good chances they are because they are catching up on June's constant rain.
